Welcome to my website!

3 friends: Me; my bike; and, my shadow.

About Me

I'm currently aged, 48. I was born/brought up/and, live in UK/London. I never travelled anywhere abroad, yet; though, I would certainly like to one day...? The places I would love to go and visit seeing in particular are:-

  • France, because it's the nearest foreign country to the UK; also, they taught me to speak some beginner's French in school. I love arts, so I'd like to see The Louvre/The Picasso Museum(Picasso is my fav. modern master).
  • Japan/China, because I love martial arts.
  • India, where both of my grandparents were born; before they decided to go emigrate to Jamaica.
  • Jamaica, my mum was born in Kingston, Jamaica; before she emigrated over to England; which is where I was born. It would be nice to see the rest of the family who are still living in Jamaica; as my mum had left one or two brothers (my uncles) there who I never yet met; who do also have plenty of grown up kids of their own.
  • Italy, I'd love to see Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel in actual person(Michaelangelo is my fav. old master).

Interests

I love general arts, computing, programming, education, keep fit, martial arts, maths, music, science, TV, -etc.

I'm also a keen 'amateur' digital photographer.

  • I use either a compact camera with retractable zoom lens; which I store inside of my trouser pocket
  • or else, a bridge camera with fixed lens; which I store inside of my backpack
  • I still haven't saved up enough money to go buy a DSLR-Digital Single Lens Reflex camera, yet; that comes with interchangeable lens; though, it is still my 'dream' to be able to buy/own one of these, either sooner or later...?
  • NOTE: As well as, taking 'still' shots; I'm also interested in taking 'movies', too; and, by using digital camera's, I found that it's actually possible to take both of these different types of photos.

Please, feel free to go check out my photo gallery; where you will be able to see a record of my travels all around London.

Aspirations

Believe it or not, but, I started learning to ride my first bike at the ripe old age of 46! At first, I couldn't even balance, properly; but, did...through a process of constant trial and error...succeed in managing to get the hang of it, eventually.

So far to date, I've had a full 2 years of bike riding experience; and, do almost feel like being a bike riding 'veteran'. I brought such things as front/back lights...which are 'essential' for night riding; head gear; arm/knee pads; high visibility yellow tabard jacket.

I haven't had any really serious accidents, yet; but, once or twice, I did manage to come awfully close! For example, once, I can recall riding my bike slap/bang into a quickly turning car. I didn't think the driver was going to turn across me in front; thinking, instead, his car was going to keep on moving straight on; thus, before I even knew it, my bike's front wheel ran straight into the side of his car; and, it actually felt like running into a solid brick wall/or, 'unmoveable' tank; the sheer force of the impact knocked me off my bike, to go land on my left side onto the hard utterly unyeilding granite floor; furthermore, right in the middle of a busy road traffic junction.

Luckily, such incidents are really few and far between. though. Thank God! Most times, my bike riding experience is totally non-eventful; unless a tyre goes flat; and, then, I have to walk/drag the bike all the way back home; or, I went and parked the bike, only to return and discover that one/or, both of the lights are missing/(stolen)?! In fact, once, I went back...and, found NO BIKE(stolen/or, maybe, I just forgot to lock it up, properly)?! So, after reporting the incident to the local police station(not a lot they can do about it, I'm afriad?!); I had no other choice but to save up to go buy a 'new' bike.

I like to have plenty of fun riding my bike all around, up and down, travelling through the streets of London. After all, they do say that 'if you are tired of living in London; then, you really and truly must be tired of life!' London is a city which contains, quite literally, hundreds, thousands, millions of streets; including, main streets/side streets/back streets/parks/-etc.; so, there is always more and more to see and discover out there for each and every single day; there are also multiple favourite places which I love returning to visit seeing, again and again; including...

  • Morley College, where I'm currently studying, doing a writing course called: Memoir Life Writing.
  • National Gallery, there's a Da Vinci show going on, right now; which I still haven't seen, yet?!
  • London Zoo, I'm a yearly paid up member; so I can visit any time I please; a great place to go and take photographs.
  • -Etc.
